There is something magical about baking and leaving cookies for Santa. Nick and I loved working with Kristin and Patrick to lovingly arrange cookies on a plate just for Santa to find, alongside carefully written notes. Of course the next morning the notes would be gone and the cookies eaten except for a few crumbs. The magic for Nick and me was to see the amazement and joy in our children's faces when they discovered Santa had eaten - maybe even devoured - the cookies.
Ingredients
1 large log Pillsbury cookie dough
Hershey kisses
1 large log Pillsbury cookie dough
Hershey kisses
Directions
Cut dough in 1" slices then in fourths. Drop 1/4 into each cup of a mini muffin tin lined with mini cupcake liners. Bake at 350 degrees for 11 minutes.
Remove foil from Hershey kisses while cookie dough is baking. Remove cookies from oven and quickly press one kiss into center of each cookie. Make a depression as you press. Allow to cool 20 minutes before carefully removing cookie from tin. (Kiss must have time to become firm again.) Makes about 40 cookies. Refrigerate dough between processes. Store in tightly lidded/sealed Tupperware or tins.
