Sake Bomb

I grew up in the era of father knows best and mom is always right and in my case it was pretty much true. However, I discovered through my children I was not always right and had a lot to learn. In fact, I learned many important and valuable lessons from Kristin and Patrick.

For instance,  my daughter Kristin taught me confidence; I did not learn to drive until we moved to the suburbs and even though I got my license right away, I  refused to get behind the wheel. One day, much to my surprise, Kristin was able to persuade me to drive and with her gentle encouragement, I gained the confidence I needed. Kristin also taught me how to be fashionable. She gave me a beautiful peach sweater and grey pants from Banana Republic telling me it was time I upgraded my wardrobe and hairstyle. You see, at the time I was donning a Carol Brady shag and wearing a bulky ugly sweater with sweatpants and wooden clogs; I needed all the help I could get.

My son Patrick taught me about trust. He knew my love for him was strong enough to trust him to whip a cup off my head with one quick swipe. Patrick is a martial arts expert and I knew of his precision and expertise when it came to the whip. I am here to tell you,  he was successful. More importantly, Patrick taught me to stand up for myself and not let others bully me or push me around.

Another valuable lesson I learned from Kristin and Patrick was how to drink a Sake Bomb. I am fortunate I have children who showed me I was not always right and I had so much to learn from them. Because of my children,  I am a stronger and more confident as well as definitely more fashionable.

Ingredients
Sake ( some prefer it chilled, some
warm, you'll need to decide that)
Beer, fizzy is best

1. Pour beer into a tall glass.
2. Pour one shot of sake into the shot glass.
3. Place two chopsticks parallel, moving out slightly to an elegant Valley shape on top of tall glass.
4. Place the shot glass with the sake on the chopsticks in the center over the tall glass.
5. Bang both fists down, either side of the glass. This needs to be hard enough to dislodge the shot glass. Once the shot glass descends into the beer and the beer starts frothing,  drink fast!
