Mardi Gras-Rita

Add some color to your Mardi Gras celebration with this luscious and jewel-like ruby color cocktail. Cheers!

Ingredients

for the rim

honey simple syrup (2 parts honey, 1 part water)

purple sanding sugar

pink Himalayan salt

for the cocktail

2 oz. tequila blanco

1 oz. triple sec

2 oz. tart cherry juice

1 oz. freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice

1/2 oz. lime juice

1/2 oz. agave syrup

Directions

Chill cocktail glasses.

Pour one ounce of the honey simple syrup into a small shallow bowl. On a small plate, mix together the purple sanding sugar and pink Himalayan salt. Dip the rims of chilled cocktail glasses in honey simple syrup and then dip in sugar-salt mixture. Set aside.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the tequila blanco, triple sec, tart cherry juice, pink grapefruit juice, lime juice, and agave syrup,. Shake vigorously and strain into prepared cocktail glass.
