There have been many crazes that were incomprehensible to me ...for instance swallowing goldfish, paper dresses, milking and then the most recent, the mustache craze! Mustaches are everywhere from pacifiers to duct tape, clothes to calendars, hole punchers to Easter egg tattoos at Williams-Sonoma. I just don't get it! Nor does my co-worker Megan. In fact we have given each other ridiculous mustache gifts just because we just don't get it! Last Friday Megan surprised me with a mustache cookie cutter and of course I couldn't wait to make some mustache sugar cookies for her. I hope Megan enjoys the cookies as much as I enjoyed making them for her.

Collected Recipes for Every Day
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 pound butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tablespoons brandy
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. On a lightly floured board, roll out one third at a time. Roll to 1/8 inch thick and cut out with cookie cutters. Put the shapes on a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Do not allow to brown. Cool on racks.
These sugar cookies are delicious- the brandy adds just the right touch!
