Nick and I had always wanted to go to Rao's, the famous Italian restaurant located in East Harlem, however getting a reservation is pretty much impossible. You can imagine our excitement when we happened upon the Rao's booth at the Fancy Food Show in NY and met the co-owner, Frank Pellegrino. He could not have been more charming or flirtacious, kissing my hand and chatting with both of us. Nick mentioned how much we enjoyed their products and would love to dine at Rao's. Frank Pellegrino thanked him and suggested that perhaps we should buy his cookbook, Rao's. Although I may never get to Rao's, I am able to create some of their well known dishes. I dream that one day I will be able to get a reservation to taste their broccoli rabe and other dishes.
