Perhaps because while growing up I was not exposed to spices (other than paprika and a little but of pepper), I now appreciate anything with spice. In fact, I search for recipes with that extra kick of spice, such as Los Hermanos, a bold flavored, spicy, and smoky cocktail. Refreshing and delectable, this cocktail is the perfect complement for any barbecue. After all, spice is nice!

Ingredients
2 ounces joven mezcal
2 ounces passion fruit purée
3/4 ounce agave nectar
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
4 mint leaves
2 dashes El Yucateco green habanero hot sauce
Garnish: kosher salt, black pepper, mint leaf

Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker.
Add ice and shake
Strain over fresh ice in an old-fashioned glass with a salt and pepper half rim and garnish with the mint leaf.
