Red, White, and Blue Shortcake (Puff Pastry)

Need a last minute dessert for the Fourth of July? This patriotic-inspired dessert, wonderfully creamy and decadent, couldn't be easier to make. It can be made ahead of time and kept in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Happy fourth of July!

                                                     Red, White, and Blue Shortcake
                                                                       (Puff Pastry)


Ingredients
raspberries
blueberries
puff pastry
whipped cream (preferably homemade)
coarse sanding sugar

Directions

Preheat over to 400 degrees.

Cut puff pastry into rectangles. Sprinkle with coarse sanding sugar.

Place on ungreased baking sheets and bake for 15 - 20 minutes, until golden brown.

Let pastries cool.

Spread a dollop of whipped cream on a puff pastry. Spoon berries over the cream and top with a second puff pastry. Finally top with more whipped cream and berries.
