"The Great Pumpkin" Pie

Why wait until Thanksgiving to enjoy pumpkin pie? This Halloween, surprise your family with a pumpkin pie. So rich and decadent, "The Great Pumpkin" Pie could be the start of a new Halloween tradition.

                                                                     "The Great Pumpkin" Pie


Ingredients
1 15-ounce can pure pumpkin puree
3 large eggs
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves 
1 cup heavy cream
1/3 cup sour cream
2 unbaked pie shell, one for pumpkin cutout

Directions
Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and pumpkin. In a large bowl, combine the sugar, salt, and spices; whisk in pumpkin mixture. Whisk in heavy cream and sour cream. 

Pour filling into pie shell. Bake at 425 for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 and continue to bake for 45 minutes. Cool to room temperature. 

Bake pumpkin cutout until golden brown. Add to cooled pie.
