Smoked Salmon Canapés

These little smoked salmon canapés are the perfect one bite wonder for any occasion. The saltiness of the smoked salmon complements the sweetness of the herbed mascarpone cheese and the brininess of the capers. So easy to assemble, these pretty and luscious canapés will be a lovely addition to your holiday party.

                                                                     Smoked Salmon Canapés 


Ingredients
melba toast rounds
8 oz. thinly sliced smoked salmon
6 ounces mascarpone cheese
lemon zest (1 lemon)
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh herbs (dill, thyme, chives)
freshly ground black pepper
capers 
red onions, finely chopped
dill fronds

Directions
Mix the mascarpone cheese with the dill, thyme, chives, lemon zest, and freshly ground black pepper.

Place the melba toast on a serving tray. Just before serving, spread the mascarpone cheese on top of each round.

Cut the smoked salmon and place on top of melba toasts.

Garnish with red onions, capers, and dill fronds.
