Cedar Plank Salmon with Lavender-Honey Glaze

I attended a catered event where they served the most delectable lavender-honey glazed salmon cooked on a cedar plank. The sweetness from the lavender honey paired with the saltiness from the salmon, earthiness from the rosemary, and tartness from the lemon was pure bliss. This dish was so decadent and luscious, I knew I had to try to replicate it. My Cedar Plank Salmon with Honey-Lavender Glaze is easy to make and just as delicious as the dish I enjoyed at the event.

Ingredients
for the lavender honey
1 tablespoon dried lavender
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup water
pinch of kosher salt

2 pounds salmon fillet
lemon slices
fresh rosemary
sea salt
freshly ground black pepper

Directions
Soak cedar plank in hot water for 1 to 3 hours. Make sure it is completely submerged.

Preheat the grill or oven to 375 degrees F.

To make the glaze, add lavender, honey, water, and pinch of salt to a small sauce pan and bring to a simmer. Continue to simmer until the mixture is reduced by half and syrupy. Strain.

Remove the soaked plank from the water and lightly dry with a towel.

Place the salmon on the cedar plank. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. 

Generously brush the salmon with the lavender honey glaze. Top with lemon and rosemary and place on the grill or in the oven. Cook for 12-15 minutes. Check at 12 minutes for doneness.

Remove the plank  and serve immediately.
