Spooky Skull Caprese Skewers
Ingredients
mozzarella balls
basil leaves
cherry tomatoes
sea salt
extra-virgin olive oil
Special Equipment
skeleton skull silicone mold
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Place one mozzarella ball into each skull mold and press down. Place on a baking sheet for stability and bake for 6 to 8 minutes.
Fold a paper towel in quarters and use it to press each mozzarella ball firmly into the mold. As you press into the skeleton mold, the paper towel will absorb the liquid released by the cheese.
Place the mold in the refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes. Gently remove the cheese from the mold by pressing from the outside of the mold.
Thread the mozzarella skulls on a skewer, then add a medium-large basil leaf folded in half, followed by a cherry tomato. Once they are all skewered, drizzle with extra-virgin olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt.
